An Exhibition Celebrating 25 Years of Art and the Body
2026 is a special year for The Living Canvas. 40 years ago, in 1986, Pete Guither began experimenting with Living Canvas photography. 25 years ago, in 2001, The Living Canvas performances were born, utilizing the mesmerizing imagery combined with movement, sound, and storytelling.
So, in celebration of these special anniversaries, you will have the opportunity to experience both a Living Canvas photography exhibit and a performance. All at Bramble Arts Loft in Chicago — 5545 North Clark Street, 2nd Floor, Chicago, Illinois.
The Living Canvas celebrates the beauty and expressive power of the human form through performance art and photography, nurturing a sense of body acceptance for performer/collaborator and audience.
The immersive photography exhibition will include over 100 never-before-seen Living Canvas images (no tickets needed, donations at the door):
- Thursday, July 30, from 6 pm – 8 pm (Opening)
- Friday, July 31, from 1 pm – 8 pm
- Saturday, August 1, from 1 pm – 8 pm
- Sunday, August 2, from 1 pm – 8 pm
- Tuesday, August 4, from 4 pm – 10 pm
- Wednesday, August 5, from 4 pm – 10 pm
- Thursday, August 6, from 4 pm – 10 pm
- Friday, August 7, from 4 pm – 6 pm
- Saturday, August 8, from 4 pm – 6 pm
